Purchasing ALGGi GIS data
Auckland City Council Spatial Centre team manages sales of data that has either been purchased or captured by the ALGGi consortium. Listed below is information about what spatial data is available for purchase along with a pricing schedule.
Digital orthophotography
Orthophotography combines the image characteristics of an aerial photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. Orthophotography maps are geo-referenced and can be used to measure distances, angles, positions, areas and ground features.
We can provide digital orthophotography for the whole Auckland region for 2008 and 2006.
Contour and LiDAR data
Contour lines are isolines that connect points on a map that have the same elevation, showing the shape of the land.
Recent acquisition of LiDAR (light detection and ranging) data from an airborne scanning laser, has generated more precise topographic data such as height point measurement of the terrain and the above ground objects such as buildings and trees. In addition heights of the intertidal areas of the main harbours are also available.
The extent of the acquisition of this type of data covered the whole Auckland region. In urban areas higher specifications of terrain data (0.5m contour interval) was produced in comparison to the rural areas (1.0m contour interval).
Notes
- Auckland City Council distributes Auckland regional GIS data on behalf of the eight councils of the Auckland region. All data remains copyright of the eight councils of the Auckland region and may not be sold or passed on to any third party in any format without prior written permission. A licence agreement must be signed to this effect.
- LiDAR Data can be purchased in combination with the 2006 orthophotography on per map sheet basis.
- LiDAR Data and the orthophotography can also be purchased at a reduced pricing scheme based on the number of GIS users within an organisation. Please contact us if you wish to purchase any data or for more information about ALGGi datasets.
